"AN OPRAH WINFREE APOLOGY"

While Oprah Winfree is busy apologizing to the public on the hardly missed news blitz for her mistake in judgment, and expounding on her need for truth, I'll be one to comply, and put in my request for an apology for my daughter Lauri.

In the mid 1990's, young Lauri started a business with all her available resources in designing and manufacturing sportswear that featured her Registered GOD IS KING logo and crown:

Lauri, at the time, being a watcher of the Oprah Winfree show, communicated with the show's staff who gave her the impression that they were interested in her suggestion to have Oprah wear one of the garments on her show, while requesting some samples.

Lauri excitedly packed up several shirts, hats and silk jackets and sent them to the address she was given in Chicago, with the package signed for on delivery.

Not a note, not a thank you, no return in the mail, no return of letters or calls of inquiry, nothing was ever again heard from the show, obviously not interested in good public relations; and needless to say, that was a mean and disheartening disappointment for a hopeful, young woman trying legitimately to get her own well earned piece of the pie.

And another example of the all too common, self-interest-serving attitude that carelessly depletes people's confidence and hope as they too are trying to achieve their dreams.

I'm not interested in or a watcher of the Oprah Winfree show. I don't buy the hype or admire all the wealth and fame its garnered for to whom it may concern. I figure, it's just not worth the bother.
