After an exuberant post-election promising of an end to the 'two day work week', the Democrat House Majority leader has announced that the House will no longer be in session on Fridays when the 110th Congress begins in January.This pompous decision comes at a time when the Bush Administration is hammering congressional Democrats for failing to meet basic responsibilities, like approving annual budget bills and confirming the Bush nominee for Attorney General, Michael Mukasey; etc.
"Congress needs to keep their promise, stop wasting time, and get essential work done on behalf of the American people," said the President.Since Democrats took control, Congressional approval ratings have nose-dived to about 11%, and this lazy Friday move will no doubt fail to favorably impress the voting public next year when it comes to electing a federal public servant, 4-day week job that pays $162,500 per year of taxpayer money; showing a lot of time squandered in hearings, accusational, partisan bickering and little important job results.
The Democrats have started a fire (we know what you did) with their 'Freedom of Choice Act' in the Senate: Barbara Boxer, Hillary Clinton, Shumer, etc., that is more a time-waster to appease extremist pro-abort lobbyists and constituents, than to produce something worthwhile; with prioritized photo-ops, fundraisers and partisan rhetoric in more squandering of time and taxpayer money;
with poor job performance evident in failed results and unprecedented disapproval ratings.
